Dear friends!

Russia has carried out an act of aggression towards Ukraine. Russian troops have entered Crimea. Thus we take it upon ourselves to inform you about the events in Ukraine. We will provide you with yet another viewpoint regarding this conflict. We will do our best to remain fair and objective.

 

March 22 – Commander of Ukrainian Navy rear admiral Serhiy Hayduk stated that pulling out Ukrainian troops from Crimea is currently not on the agenda. 30% of all Ukrainian combat fleet is blocked in Crimea at this time. Necessary action plans and algorithms have been developed and military unit commanders have been appropriately informed. There is a 10-day food supply available at the blocked Ukrainian ships in the Crimean Donuzlav Lake. After an attack by Russian servicemen, contingent of the military unit À1100 performed Ukrainian anthem and left the garrison in Novofedorivka (Crimea).

March 22 – After the events in Crimea "we can no longer do business as usual with Russia", stated NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen at NATO Brussels Forum.

March 22 – Approximately 500 civil observers will be sent to Ukraine in the next six months to follow the real situation in regards to Russia’s invasion of Crimea. Observers’ mandate however does not include Crimea.

March 22 – Ukraine will recognize the residents of Crimea who receive Russian passports as citizens of Ukraine, informed Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Ostap Semerak.

March 22 – Washington is working through Ukraine’s assistance requests to provide Kyiv with military support on behalf of the USA, – US Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel.

March 22 – 42 kilograms of gold, 4.8 million US dollars in cash, diamonds, etc. was confiscated during the search of private premises belonging to former Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Eduard Stavytskyi (Yanukovych regime).

March 22 – Russian servicemen, which invaded Crimea, are prohibiting former Head of Mejlis Mustafa Cemilev from entering his homeland, Crimea. Mustafa Cemilev is a leader of Crimean Tatars.

March 22 – In Belberk (Crimea) Russian troops are invading Ukrainian military airport. Yuliy Mamchur, Commander of Ukrainian military unit in Belbek has been kidnapped by Russian servicemen.

March 22 – Current situation in Ukraine will be the main theme of the next week’s European visit by the US President Barack Obama. "What will be clear for the entire world to see is that Russia is increasingly isolated" said Susan Rice, US National Security Advisor.

March 22 – In Odesa Security Service of Ukraine has detained a Russian sabotage group consisting of four armed members.
