April 29 – Kharkiv Mayor Gennadiy Kernes who was wounded by pro-Russian separatists has been transported to Israel for medical treatment.

 

April 29 – Former President Viktor Yanukovych and his entourage have smuggled at least 32 billion USD to Russia, said Acting Prosecutor General of Ukraine Oleg Makhnitskyi. According to Mr.Makhnitskyi, the worst part about it being that these funds are spent to encourage the massacres and finance separatism.

 

April 29 – A rally for the unity of Ukraine took place in Donetsk. Pro-Russia insurgents attacked the rally and captured five hostages, who were released after lengthy negotiations.

 

April 29 – As a result of sanctions from the West, "Gazprom" will not be able to borrow funds at the international markets. "Gazprom" has admitted that it could lead to a loss of confidence by foreign investors to the region's economy and to investment in Russia as a whole.

 

April 29 – On April 28th, during a conversation with US Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel, Russian Minister of Defense Sergei Shoygu said that Russian troops have returned to the place of their dislocation. However, State Border Service of Ukraine is unable to confirm the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukrainian border. "We currently have no information that indicates a withdrawal of Russian troops from the Ukrainian border," a NATO official said.

 

April 29 – "Most importantly, we must understand that if Russia crosses the border and direct confrontation begins, Ukraine will answer with military power. This is the message, which was discussed during my meetings in Washington and New York", stated Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Danylo Lubkivskyi.

 

April 29 – US Secretary of State John Kerry said that the US intelligence agencies intercepted conversations of pro-Russian forces in eastern Ukraine with officials from Moscow.
