Dear friends!

Russia has carried out an act of aggression towards Ukraine. Russian troops have entered Crimea. Thus we take it upon ourselves to inform you about the events in Ukraine. We will provide you with yet another viewpoint regarding this conflict. We will do our best to remain fair and objective.

 

April 2 – With overwhelming majority, the U.S. House of Representatives has passed legislation that includes aid for Ukraine and sanctions on Russia for its annexation of Crimea.

 

April 2 – The European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation (Eurocontrol), following the ICAO Convention on International Civil Aviation has banned flights to Crimea, in particular, to Simferopol and Sevastopol.

 

April 2 – Expert committee of the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages (ECRML) has recognized that Ukraine complied with almost all its obligations concerning the protection of the Russian language – a language of a national minority.

 

April 2 – Supreme Allied Commander Europe of NATO Allied Command Operations Philip Breedlove said that “the Russian force is in a high state of readiness and could move at any time. It could accomplish a major incursion into eastern or southern Ukraine. We think that it is ready to go, and we think it could accomplish its objectives in between three and five days, if it was directed to make the actions”.

 

April 2 –The Secretary General of NATO, Anders Fogh Rasmussen warned Russia about invading Ukraine: “It would be a historic mistake. It would isolate Russia further internationally, and we have grave consequences for relations between the western world and Russia”, emphasized Mr.Rasmussen.
