Dear Colleagues, all ICOMOS Family!

In Kyiv citizens resist the corrupted government.

President Yanukovych resorted to forceful suppression of public protest for maintenance in power.

About 100 of people are murdered. Snipers are shooting activists, journalists and even doctors that are providing first aid to the victims.

The cultural monuments are endangered because of the impending armed conflict.

The police robbed the Museum of Kyiv History. The increasing danger threatens the collections of the National Parliamentary Library and the National Art Museum. Facade areas of architectural monuments covered with smoke were only the beginning of the further damage not only in Kyiv but also in other cities.

We urge the international community to save the cultural heritage of Ukraine from criminal authorities!
