April 24 – Another phase of anti-terrorist operation (ATO) has taken place in the city of Sloviansk, previously seized by the terrorists. “In the north-eastern part of Sloviansk, Donetsk oblast, during ATO, the units of Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Ministry of Defense have unblocked and destroyed 3 block-posts of illegal armed groups”, informs the Ministry of Internal Affairs. “Up to 5 terrorists were killed and 1 ATO soldier was wounded during the confrontation”.

April 24 – Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has said that ATO in Sloviansk is a crime against people and threatened with the invasion of mainland Ukraine by Russian troops.

April 24 – Russia is hastily drawing its troops closer to the border with Ukraine. Three Russian helicopters have violated Ukraine’s airspace. The land boundaries haven’t been violated by regular Russian troops.

April 24 – “We have full confidence in the Ukraine government to implement the Geneva accord. We recognise Ukraine's right to take legitimate action to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity”, said EU foreign affairs chief Catherine Ashton's spokesman Michael Mann, while commenting on ATO in eastern Ukraine.

April 24 – Self-proclaimed SlovianskMayorVyacheslav Ponomarev has ordered armed insurgents to seize kindergartens. “Since 1 pm, 5-6 armed terrorists are located in kindergartens and schools. “Mayorordered that his terrorists use Putin’s tacticsshield themselves with women and children”, he wrote.

April 24 – Russia’s Federation Council representatives have suggested that peacekeeping contingent of soldiers should enter southeast of Ukraine, stated Federation Council’s member Valery Shnyakin.
